This week is jam packed with art action in the Design District so I’ve expanded my monthly “Evening of Art” post to include a whole week’s worth of art events. Highlights and listings after the jump.
The Dallas Contemporary swings into action, kicking off the week of art with a concert on Wednesday evening and wrapping up the week with a day of art for kids and families on Saturday.

The highlight of Saturday night will be the opening of the Holly Johnson Gallery’s five year anniversary exhibition, Back and Forth. The multi-artist exhibition will highlight artists from their first five years and also introduce several new artists.
Another must-see of the evening will be the unveiling of Gabriel Dawe’s installation in the Conduit Gallery Project Room which will feature hundreds of spools of multi-colored fabric thread used to create an interactive cocoon-like structure. Now I can’t wait to see how that turns out!
