Christmas is over, my skin is pasty white and that snow storm last week chilled me to the bone. It’s official; I’m ready for summer. And the new LINK outdoor fabric line with it’s fresh, whimsical prints has me yearning for margarita-filled days by the pool!
LINK outdoor, a new player in the design world, recently launched their signature line of outdoor fabrics. Designed by brothers Doug & Gene Meyer, who are well known in fashion and art as “master colorists,” the collection utilizes bold colors and whimsical prints to create a fresh, almost retro look — perfect for patio lounging and elegant outdoor entertaining.
Each of the patterns is set on white and off-white grounds, creating a crisp, clean, modern look. My personal favorites are the drop in and palme designs (pictured above), but I’m also a fan of the collection’s signature pattern, a woven fringe (picture after the jump).
And speaking of fringe, LINK offers three styles of fringe trims. The trims are made of the same solution dyed acrylic yarns as the fabric collection, perfect for pairing with the fabric on pillows and throws. They are offered in a stripe, tweed, or double-face in several colors. Now is that trim-tastic, or what!
Not only are the designs bright, fresh and whimsical, but the fabric is specially designed for the outdoors, making it durable enough to stand weather, pets and children.
LINK is currently working with designers to create their own outdoor furniture line. They plan to launch the line this summer at NEOCon in Chicago. Beyond the usual teak, LINK plans to introduce aluminum, stainless steel and woven furniture items.
LINK has already outfitted an impressive list of tropical resorts with their sourced teak furniture, including the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, St. Regis Resort Punta Mita, and Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort to name a few! And that’s on top of numerous other private residences that feature their furniture.
LINK outdoor fabrics can be found in the Dallas Design Center at the George Cameron Nash and at various other showrooms throughout the county.
