While catching up on my blog reading last week I came across this fabulous picture on a post showcasing the work of photographer Sarah Dorio by Jen over at Made By Girl. If you didn’t already notice, I’m currently obsessed with Louis style chairs, whether they’re antiques or updated versions.
I’ve been particularly lusting after these Louis style “Smoke” chairs that have been teasingly displayed in the Scott+Cooner showroom window for the past couple of months. As I explained previously, the chairs are actually set on fire before being painted and upholstered. Don’t you think Sarah’s photographs capture the effect so much more poignantly than the manufacturer’s stock photography? I sure do!
After seeing Sarah’s amazing photos on MbG, I had to reach out and figure out which incredible designer found such a perfect way to incorporate these cool chairs into their design. To my delight, Sarah responded almost immediately, informing me that the designer was none other than designer extraordinaire and TV personality Brian Patrick Flynn, best known for his work on Surprise by Design and TBS’s Movie & a Makeover.
“I love the drama of this chair! It makes a bold photographic subject on its own,” Sarah shared. And I agree.
If you have a minute, I encourage you to take some time and browse Sarah’s website www.sarahdorio.com. She has all sorts of pictures of lovely interiors that are sure to have you swooning.
