ASID Student Symposium 2010

ASID Texas Student Symposium
Friday, October 15 & Saturday, October 16, 2010

The ASID Texas Chapter’s Student Symposium, a two-day event for interior design students, will provide an incredibly opportunity-rich venue especially for young designers to be exposed to “actual” reality of this amazingly diverse industry, interact with successful professionals, and affirm their passion for this industry beyond what’s required in the classroom.

Notable events include a tour of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Lord Norman Foster’s Winspear Opera House in Dallas’s Arts District and an “The Amazing Race” themed showroom scavenger hunt through Decorative Center Dallas.

Celebration of Design 2010

Celebration of Design offers continuing education CEU and CEPH credits for Designers, Decorators, and Architects as required by the State of Texas. This year, join the Decorative Center Dallas in over 10 hours of both CEU and CEPH offerings with distinguished and interesting speakers from across the country.

Design on Dragon 2010
Thursday, November 11, 2010; Time TBD

The shops, showrooms and art galleries of Dragon Street open up for an evening of live music, drinks and food. This brings out the Dallas creatives and socialites alike, making Design on Dragon the fall’s best Design District night to see and be seen!

Goss-Michael Foundation Grand Re-Opening
November 19, 2010; 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

The Goss-Michael Foundation will re-open in its new location on November 19, 2010 with its inaugural exhibition, Highlights from the Collection. The exhibition will exclusively feature works from Kenny Goss and George Michael’s private collection, including works by artists such as Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Michael Craig-Martin, Sarah Lucas, Angus Fairhurst, Marc Quinn, Cerith Wyn Evans, Rachel Howard, and many more.
