Yes, I’m talking to you! If you’ve checked out D Magazine’s latest Special Edition on the upcoming Superbowl XLV, you might have noticed the colorful and eclectic spread that features all-things Design District. (It’s kinda hard to miss!)

For LowerOakLawn.com subscribers and followers, the pictures in the spread should look pretty familiar. Almost all of them come from our Flickr photostream and featured posts that can be found right here on the blog!

If you’ve been down to the the Dallas Design District lately you’ve probably noticed the striking decorative artwork that adorns the entrances on Hi Line and Oak Lawn Ave. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you certainly won’t forget them! 3. Calatrava Bridge & the Trinity River Corridor Project

Calatrava Bridge Dallas

It’s no coincidence the Dallas Design District is revitalizing ahead of the long future of the Trinity redevelopment, including the Margaret Hill Hunt Bridge that is now under construction. The loft apartments in Lower Oak Lawn will offer some of the best views of the bridge in Dallas.

7. Terrific Trails

LOL Landscaping

This shot, taken on Hi Line Drive facing downtown, marks a future connection point between the Katy Trail and the Trinity Strand Trail. Apartment dwellers at 1900 Lofts (left) and the Alexan Design District (right) take advantage of LOL’s well-lit sidewalks to run, bike and walk their dogs.

10. Snow Day in the Design District

The picture kinda speaks for itself, but if you weren’t in Dallas this winter, it was the snowiest any of us can remember. Some of the first residents in the Dallas Design District had fun making snow angels and having snow ball fights, and we couldn’t resist making a few memories ourselves.
