As we’ve begun to prove here on LowerOakLawn.com, the Dallas Design District has become quite the hot spot for shooting engagement photos! (Remember these other Love in LOL features: Scott & Julie and Aaron & Allison?)
This week I bring you a shoot by Denton photographer Stefani Peterson, of Tru Identity Photography. Stefani picked some LOL engagement shoot favorites (the notorious pink wall) and also threw in a few new sets that are sure to become popular spots in the future!
Both Stefani and the bride, Rovi’Elle, give us some insight into their choice of the Design District and their favorite locales.

Where to find it: Heritage Auction Galleries at 1518 Slocum Street (Google Street View)
Kendall: So how did you decide to shoot Rovi & Chase in the Design District?
Stefani: I chose the Dallas Designs District because it seems like everyone photographs in Deep Ellum and I promised myself that this year I would push myself to discover new locations around Dallas. Dallas is such an artistic and creatively beautiful town — why not try some new places and give your clients unique and meaningful photos?!
Where to find it: You tel me! I can’t find this gorgeous gray wall. Know where it is? Share below in the comments!
Kendall: As a photographer, what intrigued you most about shooting here?
Stefani: I loved the modern, urban, yet vintage vibe I got from the Dallas Design District. Taking Rovi and Chase out there to photograph their engagement session got my creative juices flowing!

Where to find it: This view can be found on the top floor of a parking garage on Slocum Street near the Dallas Design Center.
Kendall: What did you think about Stefani suggesting the Design District as the locale for your photo shoot?
Rovi’Elle: I was excited! I realized quickly that there are so many different places to choose to shoot the pictures and some great views of downtown that we could take advantage of. The area is very different from the usual places to take pictures, such as a park or in a studio.
Where to find it: The alleyway behind Riverfront and Dragon Street – just off of Howell Street. This warehouse is the home of 7 Senses, an event planning company. (Google Street View)
Kendall: So, do you like them?!
Rovi’Elle: I love how the photos turned out! They were done by Stefani Peterson of
Tru Identity and she is wonderful!! She did
her homework, and found some really nice areas in the Dallas Design District to take the pictures.
Kendall: Which is your favorite photo and why?
Rovi’Elle: My favorite pictures taken in the Design District were the ones off of the gray, white, and pink walls. They were just different colored walls, but the colors coincidentally went really well with our outfits. Also, the simple fact that they were just alley ways made into a work of art just blows my mind!!!
