If you live in Dallas and haven’t heard of Dwell with Dignity, you must be living under a rock. Dallas’s most stylish new charity organization has been making waves in the design industry — and a big impact in our community! Founded by the ever generous Kim Turner and Lisa Robison, Dwell with Dignity is a non-profit group of interior designers and volunteers who dedicate their time and resources to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty.
They recently moved their stock of furnishings to one of our warehouses in the Dallas Design District which PegasusAblon is offering to them rent-free! We are thrilled to help this important design-tastic cause!
Now that they’ve got their things settled in their new space, Dwell with Dignity’s is onto their newest endeavor — a fundraiser, disguised as a contest — that is, of course, design themed! The contest, called Ready Aim Design, encourages creative re-use, offering prizes to creative designers with the best before & after furniture transformations.

The contest is open to everyone, from experienced designers to students and novice re-designers, and they’re encouraging anyone with a creative project they’d like to share to enter! The $25 entry fee allows applicants to upload a before/after photo of a piece of furniture that they have “made over.”
Six rock star judges, including Jonathan Adler, Grace Bonney, Ronda Carman, Crystal Gentilello, Samantha Reitmayer Sano, and Rebecca Sherman will select the top 10 finalists based on creativity, overall design appeal, ingenuity, and skill of labor. The top ten will then be voted on by the public and the top three will receive some pretty awesome prizes!

I am still debating which pictures I should enter of my own DIY projects. Maybe this vanity makeover I did?

The problem is, I always end up getting so excited about my new project I forget to take “before” photos! Maybe I will just go ahead and enter them all! I mean, it’s for a great cause, right?!
