This Saturday is your last chance to see Alan Ross’s photography exhibit “Black and White” at Sun to Moon Gallery. Due to the popularity of the exhibit and the photography classes he taught, Sun to Moon is offering another chance to meet Mr. Ross at an exhibit closing reception on Saturday, March 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. They also has few seats left for a repeat performance of his one-day photography workshop, “How to Make a Great Photograph,” on Friday, March 4.
Alan Ross was Ansel Adams’ Photographic Assistant in Carmel from 1974 to 1979, and was integrally involved with Adams’ books, teaching in Yosemite, and production of fine prints. For over 35 years, Alan has been the exclusive printer of Ansel Adams’ Special Edition prints, and over the span of that time has made nearly one hundred thousand prints from Adams’ original negatives!
In addition to being a skilled printer, Alan is a master photographer. In my opinion, his works are nothing short of stunning. You can see a selection of photos in the exhibit at SuntoMoon.com.
