Lower Oak Lawn Evening of Art

April might be known for it’s showers, but it’s the art galleries of the Dallas Design District that are raining with talent this month! From pop art to still life, abstract to contemporary, these exhibits showcase a thunderously diverse collection of inspired art. Artists receptions are scheduled for this Saturday, April 2, and the forecast promises warm weather and sunshine so you can leave your umbrella at home!

Highlights of this month’s exhibit openings: (1) Inspired by digital art? Check out dig.it.al, an exhibit of 2D digital art at Cohn Drennan Contemporary. (2) Next, head over to Samuel Lynne Galleries where Ray Phillips exhibit “context” features graphic design mixed with iconic imagery. (3) For a softer touch, check out the dreamy still life paintings from Sara Haba at Galleri Urbane. (4) Get ready for Earth Day (later this month) with an exhibit in the Project Room at Conduit Gallery by Dallas artist Alison Starr who constructs objects from a colorful fabric of plastic shopping bags in a seemingly futile attempt to minimize her environmental impact on the world.

For even more gallery recommendations check out my guest post over on ILiveInDallas.com which lists Five Can’t Miss Art Galleries in the Dallas Design District. Or see a full listing of Saturday evening’s exhibit openings after the jump…
