Evening of Art in Lower Oak Lawn

As you can see in from the pieces above, the trend for February’s art exhibits is color! Have a colorful evening this Saturday, February 16 by enjoying a night of gallery hopping in the Dallas Design District.

Highlights of this month’s exhibit openings: (1) You’re sure to be consumed by Austin artist Virginia Fleck’s s intricately designed, large-scale mandalas. Crafted from thousands of pieces of used plastic bags imprinted with familiar logos and slogans, these ebullient works are on display at Holly Johnson Gallery. (2) Valentines Day might have been Monday but The Cameron Gallery is still feelin’ the love! Their new exhibit “Made for Love” includes artwork that is inspired by love. (3) Dallas artist Brad Ellis’s abstract mixed media works are textured and colorful. Head to Craighead Green to see this creative spin on encaustic artwork. (4) Lastly, I could never pass up the chance to see new work from J.D. Miller at Samuel Lynne!

Check out a full listing of Saturday evening’s exhibit openings after the jump…
