Tonight’s Rare Brew: Dogfish Head Theobroma

By on Aug 17, 2011 • No Comments (give us yours!)

Take a trip back in time tonight at The Moth with Theobroma, an Aztec-inspired brew from Dogfish Head’s Ancient Ale series.

Brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs, honey, chilies, and annatto, this limited production cask is “based on chemical analysis of pottery fragments found in Honduras which revealed the earliest known alcoholic chocolate drink used by early civilizations to toast special occasions.”

Theobroma, translated into “food of the gods”  is a light colored beer — atypical of a usual chocolate brew.

As usual, the cask will be opened at 5pm and happy hour pricing last till 7pm. Hope to see you there!
