Designer Showcase: Fresh & Young Dining Room by Melissa Woody

By on Jul 22, 2011 • 3 Comments (give us yours!)

Today’s Designer Showcase comes from interiors and antiques aficionado Melissa Woody. Melissa designed this fun yet elegant dining room for a young couple with two kids, centering the room with a clear glass chandelier that the couple found on a trip to London.

Melissa is no stranger to incorporating antiques and found objects into her designs and even sells her hand selected antique treasures at three metroplex shops, including The Mews in the Dallas Design District.

The rest of the room is adorned with Design District furnishings, including beautifully upholstered Holly Hunt dining chairs and a Venetian Glass mirror that I’m beyond obsessed with!

Fresh is exactly how I would describe this look. That is what I thought before I even read the title of your post. I really love the tone of the wood and the floors. The rug breaks it up nicely so there isn’t an overload of that dark finish.

I totally agree! I also love how the mirror balances the chandelier. Both pieces lighten up the room and provide great contrast to the dark woods furniture and floors.
