Buon giorno from Italy! Today Kate and I will be venturing from lovely Tuscany, up north to the water filled streets of Venice!
Second to its unique waterways and gondolas, The City of Water is most known for its Venetian glass products. And most notably for Murano glass which has been a famous product of the island for centuries.

Located off the shore of Venice, Murano was a commercial port dating as far back as the 7th century. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born in the late 13th century when the Venetian government, fearing that the high temperature firing done by glassmakers could destroy the largely wooden city of Venice, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano.
By the end of the 16th century, three thousand of Murano’s seven thousand inhabitants were involved in the glassmaking industry in some way. Murano’s glassmakers held a monopoly on quality glassmaking for centuries, and still today Murano glass is revered as a luxury product, known for its quality, style and artistry.
Given its Italian style and true Italian luxury, it’s only natural that FENDI Casa’s lighting line, FENDI Luce, is anchored by pieces made of the famous Venetian glass.
Made of hand-blown Murano glass, lamps and chandeliers in FENDI’s Luce line are created with elegant and sophisticated design. The lampshade offerings are just as luxurious as the glass with options in organza, fabric, or leather.

I am obsessed with their spectacular chandeliers that have six or more arms and are intensified with diamond or baguette crystal drops.

White or black Swarovski are assembled to reflect light in a magic game of contrasts.

While I’m exploring Venice today, you should go explore these lovely lights at the Luxury Living showroom!
