The forecast calls for warm weather and sunny skies this Saturday, making it a perfect day to get out and explore your wonderful city! Need a place to start your day of adventuring? Try the Dallas Design District, where there are several great events worth checking out.

1. Go Green at the Green Living Grand Opening (view event info)

Green Living is celebrating the grand opening of its new Design District diggs with a day full of fun filled events. Howard Garrett, the Dirt Doctor, will be hosting a book signing from 1 to 3 pm. Also, experts in reclaimed wood and cork flooring will be on hand to show off samples and give you the inside scoop on their products first hand. You can also enter for a chance to win a $1,000 gift card!

I’m personally excited to see all their fabulous eco-friendly housewares like the water goblet pictured above which was crafted from a reclaimed Bordeaux bottle. (See more great glassware on their website.)

2. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle at Green Living E-Waste Recycling Drive

In conjuntion with their grand opening, Green Living is hosting one of their quarterly EWaste recycling drives. Put your old electronics in the right place by bringing them in for Green Living to recycle. As an added bonus, customers who recycle will get 10% off purchases!

3. Get your art on at Nicola Parente’s Exhibit Opening at Gremillion (view event info)

Take a breather from your day of exploring the district by checking out LOL’s newest art exhibit, Edge of Awaking by Nicola Parente. The Houston-based artist, inspired by the words of Henry David Thoreau, embraces negative space to evoke a sense of limitlessness.
