To say Herman Miller is iconic is putting it mildly. Furniture designed decades ago is still sought after today.

When Herman Miller’s new manufacturing and office facility in Michigan was overrun by large colonies of paper wasps that decided to make the facility their home, Herman Miller didn’t reach for the wasp spray. Nope, they invited bees to join the party. 600,000 of them in 12 hives on the grounds. The bees invited the paper wasps to leave and leave they did. The bees are still there along with lots of honey that Herman Miller bottles for its guests. This is just one of the things that has landed Herman Miller as the only office furniture manufacturer in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
